The traditional house from Poienile de sub Munte village, in the commune of the same name, is representative of the northeastern part of Maramureș county. Crossed by the Ruscova River, the village is notable for its old Ukrainian wooden churches and the Vinderel glacial lake. Situated at an altitude of over 1600 meters, the lake has an area of almost 1 hectare and a maximum depth of 5.5 meters.
