The traditional house from Cornești village, Călinești commune, is representative of the northern area of historical Maramureș. Located in the Maramureș depression, on the Cosău Valley, the village stands out for its ancient customs and traditions preserved unaltered by the locals. Also here is a wooden church from 1615, with its altar built a century earlier. The place of worship is included in the list of historical monuments and is considered one of the oldest and most remarkable churches in historical Maramureș.
